ZoSo Bringing Led Zeppelin To Life At Roanoke Island Festival Park
The ultimate Led Zeppelin tribute experience, Zoso is bringing the classic sounds of the iconic rock band to the Outer Banks this summer, in concert at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo in July.
ZoSo tours tirelessly across the nation and the world to bring the magic of Led Zeppelin back to the stage. Each member radiates high levels of passion and energy that can easily be seen. They also perfectly embody the sounds, moves and attitudes of their respective roles to make for a truly authentic experience.
In 1995, lead singer Matt Jernigan was at a crossroads in his musical career. Jernigan was known for his vocal prowess but was not interested in pursuing the heavier direction that metal was heading in. Some trusted industry friends convinced him that he would be a natural at embodying Robert Plant in a Led Zeppelin tribute.
Despite Jernigan’s initial skepticism, the first ZoSo lineup was assembled and was very well-received early on. Over the years, the show has continued to improve, and their loyal fanbase includes people from all over the US and the world.
Anyone that attends a ZoSo show is immediately taken back to the glory days of Led Zeppelin with everything from the instruments, costumes and vocals.
Patrick Brenner for Grateful Web sums up ZoSo in a review of a recent show at Stage AE in Pittsburgh: “The look, the feel, the sound, the mannerisms, the equipment all perfected to the tee by the group’s members; Matt Jernigan as Robert Plant, John McDaniel as Jimmy Page, Adam Sandling as John Paul Jones, and Bevan Davies as John Bonham”.
ZoSo welcomed new drummer, Bevan Davies, to the lineup in 2015, with fans loudly voicing their approval due to his top-level drumming chops . Davies brings an eye-popping resume, including having manned the kit for Static-X, Danzig, and Alice in Chains, as well as teaching master classes in John Bonham drumming techniques.
The band is constantly working to make their show better and have expressed that it takes years of time, effort, and practice to properly play tribute to Zeppelin. This is something that Jernigan has expressed is very important to the group as a whole.
John McDaniel, playing the role of Jimmy Page said in an interview for the Colorado Springs Gazzette, “I’m trying to really recreate it note for note so people feel like they can see somebody play this music exactly as [Jimmy Page} did.”
