Weekend Movie Update – May 19, 2017: ‘Alien’ Begins

A familiar Alien attacks theaters this week, while a Wimply Kid returns, young love is Everything, and the Guardians continue their stay at The Pioneer.

Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of May 19, 2017!

Leading this week’s new releases is both a sequel to director Ridley Scott’s Prometheus and a sequel to his 1979 sci-fi horror classic Alien, as the killer Xenomorphs are back on the big screen in Alien: Covenant (rated R) opening Friday at R/C Theatres in Kill Devil Hills, with special preview screenings tonight (Thursday) at 7 and 9:40pm.

Also new this week, the family comedy sequel Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul (rated PG) opens on Friday R/C Theatres in Kill Devil Hills as well, with preview screenings set for tonight (Thursday) at 5, 7:10, and 9:30pm.

A young girl who has lived a sheltered life because she’s allergic to everything falls for the boy who moves in next door in Everything, Everything (rated PG13), opening Friay at R/C Theatres in Kill Devil Hills, with preview screenings set for tonight (Thursday) at 5, 7:30, and 9:50pm.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (rated PG13) continues its run at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, through May 25.
