A solemn Promise is made, but someone gets Forgotten in theaters this week, as the Power Rangers arrive at The Pioneer.

Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of April 21, 2017!

The Dead live again, as Fathom Events and Rhino are partnering to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original Dead documentary, The Grateful Dead Movie, for a one-time-only screening today (4/20).

Shot on 35mm film and co-directed by the late Dead frontman Jerry Garcia himself, The Grateful Dead Movie captures live performances of the legendary band during an October 1974 five-night run of concerts at San Francisco’s iconic Winterland.

This special event screening of The Grateful Dead Movie is happening locally today (Thursday) at 7pm at R/C Theatres Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.

Headlining this week’s new releases is the romantic drama The Promise (rated PG13), opening Friday at R/C Theatres in Kill Devil Hills with a special preview screening tonight (Thursday) at 7pm.

Also new this week for horror fans is the latest found footage thriller Phoenix Forgotten (rated PG13), starting Friday at R/C Theatres Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.

The new Power Rangers (rated PG13) reboot arrives at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo for two week, through April 27.
