Dare High Schools Student Art Show Opens At Festival Park

The Dare County High Schools Annual Art Show will open in the Event Room at Roanoke Island Festival Park on Friday, March 24, with an opening reception from 5 to 8pm.

The exhibit will run March 24 to April 20 (MondayFriday 9am to 5pm) and will feature the works of Manteo High School, First Flight High School and Cape Hatteras Secondary School. 

The reception and show are free and open to the public.

Roanoke Island Festival Park Executive Director Kim Sawyer says, “The Dare County High Schools Annual Art Show always brings innovative, fun and inspiring work. My thanks to the teachers and students who work together to create the show.”

You are invited to come witness the passion, originality and promise in these youthful artists who showcase a wide array of artistic medium from the classics to breaking edge computer graphic. The exhibition features two and three dimensional including; ceramics, stained glass, wood and fiber art, mixed media, computer art, printmaking, sculpture, paintings, drawings, and photography.

The efforts of Dare County students will fill the Art Gallery from floor to ceiling with an explosion of color and variety. Dare County art teachers excel in cultivating creative capacities with fresh perspectives in their students. The students are encouraged to explore concepts, techniques, mediums, styles, history and subject matter.

Don’t miss this inspiring exhibit, opening on Friday, March 24 at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo.
