‘Star Wars’ Fans Unite For Memorial Lightsaber Vigil [Video / Photo Gallery]
Local fans of the Star Wars movies joined the Outer Banks Halloween Society at a memorial lightsaber vigil in Kill Devil Hills this past weekend, lighting up the sky in memory of Star Wars icons Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Kenny Baker (R2 D2), both of whom passed away in 2016.
Attendees all brought their lightsabers, and some came in full costume, including Amy DeLigio as Princess Leia and young Evan from Currituck, who made the perfect R2 D2 in a costume that was handmade by his aunt the night before the event.
The Outer Banks Lightsaber Vigil took place on Sunday, Jan. 15 at Aviation Park in Kill Devil Hills.
