35th Annual New World Festival of the Arts Returns To Manteo
Bringing 85 world-class artists from across the East Coast to sell and showcase their work, the New World Festival of the Arts returns to the Manteo waterfront August 17-18 from 10am to 5pm.
The outdoor show will feature art from exhibitors including watercolors, oil & acrylic, drawings, photography, jewelry, sculpture, and pottery.
“It’s truly a wonderful experience to assist in organizing a show I have attended since I was a child,” said Dare County Arts Council Gallery Manager Louise Sanderlin, who returns for her third year as show organizer. “The New World Festival of the Arts displays wonderful talent, a wide variety of media and interpretation – it exposes all who attend to what creativity and dedication is capable of. Having this show in Manteo is a treasured gift.”
Presented by PNC Bank for the second consecutive year, the New World Festival of the Arts has been a Manteo tradition for decades, providing awareness of current trends in the visual arts while acquainting visitors with the historic Town of Manteo.
“The Town of Manteo has been proudly involved in the New World Festival of the Arts from its inception,” said Town of Manteo Manager Kermit Skinner. “Under the diligent efforts of Edward Green, the festival grew from a small local show to one of the premier events of its kind on the East Coast. We are happy to partner with the Dare County Arts Council on the management of this cherished event. The Dare County Arts Council brings a new level of expertise to the New World Festival of the Arts that ensures its continued success for many years to come.”
The festival originated as an event sponsored by the Town of Manteo and funded by a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council.
SAGA Construction & Development is the presenting sponsor of DCAC’s Emerald Elegance Gala on October 22, 2016 and helps underwrite all 2016 programming, including New World Festival of the Arts.
