Roanoke Island Festival Park To Host Rhonda Vincent In Concert
The “Queen of Bluegrass” has been among the headliners at the annual Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival many times, but this summer she will headline her own concert event in Manteo, as Roanoke Island Festival Park hosts An Intimate Evening with Rhonda Vincent.
Rhonda Vincent and her band The Rage is the most celebrated band in bluegrass music, with an uprecedented seven consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year wins from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) and five Grammy Award nominations.
Rhonda has also been honored as IBMA Entertainer of the Year in 2001, and Society for Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America Entertainer of the Year in 2002 through 2006.
Born and raised in Missouri, Vincent has been on stage for more than four decades, starting as a child in her family’s band, The Sally Mountain Show.
She would eventually earn the respect of her peers in a formerly male-dominated musical genre with her mastery of the progressive chord structures and multi-range, fast paced vocals intrinsic to bluegrass.
Her music incorporates savvy contemporary touches while drawing deeply from the authentic traditions of classic bluegrass, with a flawlessly tight backing band able to execute both break-neck instrumentals and heart wrenching ballads.
Hemilright Entertainment presents An Intimate Evening with Rhonda Vincent inside the Indoor Theatre at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo on July 1.
Showtime is 8pm.
Seating is limited to 225, and tickets are on sale now for $45, available for purchase online here, or call the box office at 252-423-3039.
