Ever since it was announced that Spider-Man would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, Iron Man and the rest of the Avengers, fans have been eagerly awaiting the webslinger’s debut, which has been teased in the latest trailer for next month’s Captain America: Civil War, in which Tom Holland will make his big screen debut as Peter Parker.

Holland will then take the role into his first full adventure within the Marvel movie universe in a solo film next year, the title which was just announced last night to be Spider-Man: Homecoming.

This is obviously a fitting subtitle for the film on many levels, since the character is finally coming “home” to Marvel Studios, but also because this version of Peter Parker will be younger than of the prior movies and he will likely be literally attending his school’s homecoming in the new film.

Scripted by the writers and directors of the 2015 Vacation reboot John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, Spider-Man: Homecoming is also confirmed to star Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and Disney starlet Zendaya as another lead character named Michelle. Other characters from the existing Marvel Cinematic Universe will also appear in the film.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will swing into theaters on July 7, 2017.
