This year’s concert will be headlined by cajun-zydeco band Unknown Tongues of Gloucester, NC. Blending progressive folk, Americana and bluegrass, The Midatlantic band of Wilmington, NC will open for Unknown Tongues.

Rock The Cape concert tickets are $12 in advance and $18 at the door. Tickets are available online at brownpapertickets.com and at Koru Village in Avon, Dare County Arts Council in Manteo and Cloud Nine Gallery in Nags Head. Additional ticket outlets will be announced at a later date.

New in 2016, Rock The Cape will feature The Island Art Show and Experience Art events at numerous galleries on the island.

“Get up close and personal with art by making your own unique creation or meeting an artist during Experience Art sessions June 8 and 9 at participating galleries on Hatteras Island,” said Carolyn Schena, owner of Studio 12 in Avon.

Rock The Cape will conclude with The Island Art Show at the Community Center in Rodanthe on Friday, June 10 from 10am to 5pm.

Hatteras Island artists, galleries, businesses and civic organizations wishing to participate in the festival are invited to contact Dare County Arts Council via email to [email protected] to reserve their space.
