2016 Kelly’s Nags Head St. Patrick’s Parade Officially Announced
The 27th Annual Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade is set for Sunday, March 13 at 1 pm on the Beach Road (NC 12) in Nags Head.
The Outer Banks is famous for its beaches, surfing, swimming, paddle boarding, boating, and fishing; it’s also the ideal place to run a marathon, fly a kite or go hang-gliding. While this year’s Parade will highlight the many ways people recreate on the Outer Banks, it’s also about the Wearing of the Green in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
Those wanting to enter a band, float, group/organization, or other entity in the Parade need to fill out a parade application. Parade applications can be downloaded from kellysrestaurant.com. They are also available at Kelly’s Outer Banks Restaurant and Tavern.
What began as a way to break up the winter doldrums and to invigorate the community in preparation for the summer season, the parade has grown to include over one-hundred entrants and is watched by over eight thousand attendees thus making it the largest St. Patrick’s Parade in North Carolina.
Kelly’s is currently seeking volunteers to assist along the parade route to help keep the units moving and offer other directions. If interested please contact Mary Ann Newman at (252) 441-4116.
