Outer Banks Weekend Movie Update – Dec. 31, 2015: Tarantino’s ‘Hateful’ Return
Quentin Tarantino’s new western The Hateful Eight rides into theaters this week, while The Force Awakens continues at the historic Pioneer.
Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of Dec. 31, 2015!
The historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo is showing The Force Awakens through January 14. Showtime at The Pioneer is 8pm nightly.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (rated PG13) is directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan & Abrams, and features a cast including actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.
They join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker. The film is being produced by Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk, and John Williams returns as the composer.

From director Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Django Unchained), The Hateful Eight (rated R) is a western homage to John Carpenter’s The Thing, starring The Thing‘s Kurt Russell, along with a ton of Tarantino regulars, including Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, and Michael Madsen.
The film opens on New Year’s Eve, this Thursday at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills, with a preview show tonight (Wednesday) at 8pm.
