Outer Banks Halloween Parade Celebrity Judges Announced!
OBX Entertainment is excited to announce our official lineup of local celebrity guest judges who will decide the winners of the costume contest at the 2nd annual OUTER BANKS HALLOWEEN PARADE OF COSTUMES, this Sunday, October 25 at Kelly’s in Nags Head!
Returning from the inaugural Halloween Parade last year, we are happy to have community youth theater director Donna Roark, affectionately known to her local theater students as “Drama Mamma”, as a judge once again at this year’s event.
Donna has 40 years of acting, directing, and producing experience in theatre, with a double major in Speech/Language Disorders and Theatre, and she has directed the DC Shadow Players for 14 seasons. She is also director of the Dare County Children’s Theatre.
Star Wars 501st Legion Carolina Garrison member Jason Hill will also bring his costuming expertise to the 2015 Halloween Parade as our second celebrity guest judge.
Jason started the small but rapidly growing Outer Banks squadron of local 501st Legion members, dedicated fans who build their own authentically detailed costumes inspired the The Empire’s stormtroopers and other characters from the Star Wars movies.
Our third celebrity guest judge for the 2015 Outer Banks Halloween Parade of Costumes is Capt. Tami Gray, the breakout star of the hit NatGeo TV series Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks.
A seasoned captain from Hatteras Island, Tami lead Wicked Tuna‘s first all-female boat in Season 2 of the show, which aired earlier this year on the National Geographic Channel.
Registration opens and the pre-parade Halloween Festival begins at 2pm this Sunday, Oct. 25.
Other special guests coming to the event and hosting Trick or Treat Stations during the pre-parade party include the Haunted Hearse courtesy of Gallop Funeral Services and the creeps and ghouls of the Wanchese Woods and PsychoPath haunts, as well as the Kill Devil Derby Brigade. OBXjetpak, Outer Banks Fishing Charters, Jolly Roger Restaurant, Earth 383 Comics & Games, and the Star Wars 501st Legion Carolina Garrison.
The 2nd Annual Outer Banks Halloween Parade of Costumes returns to Kelly’s in Nags Head on Sunday, Oct. 25, with the parade registration and the pre-parade party starting at 2pm and the parade itself beginning at 3, with an awards ceremony recognizing the best costumes to follow.
