Dare County Arts Council Presents Beginner Painting Workshop
Dare County Arts Council is pleased to present a weekly painting workshop with popular Outer Banks artist Catherine Hamill.
Designed for beginner to intermediate artists ages 16 and up, this workshop will introduce you to working with acrylics, and discuss different materials, composition and techniques.
Catherine is an accomplished artist and an exceptional instructor. She owned Washed Ashore Gallery in Manteo since 2008, and her work has been featured in numerous shows and exhibits throughout the east coast.
Originally from Connecticut, where she worked in communications for over 25 years, Catherine now calls the Outer Banks home. Her extensive world travels to study art greatly influence both her own work and her teaching style. Her classes are fun, informative, and relaxed – perfect for beginning painters.
The Beginning Painting Workshop will take place on Wednesdays starting on June 23, from 3pm – 6pm at Dare County Arts Council, located at 300 Queen Elizabeth Avenue in downtown Manteo.
The cost per class is $35 for DCAC members or $40 for nonmembers, and includes many supplies. This workshop is limited to 10 students, and preregistration is required.
The Beginning Painting Workshop starts on June 23rd and will run through August 26th, and you may join as many sessions or as few as you’d like.
Please call (252) 473-5558 to register or for more information. Dare County Arts Council is a nonprofit organization celebrating 40 years of promoting the arts in Dare County through advocacy, enrichment and opportunity.
