Fee Free Weekend Announced At Wright Brothers National Memorial
Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills will be joining national park sites across the country in celebrating the first weekend of National Park Week by waiving admission fees on Saturday and Sunday, April 18 & 19, 2015.
It’s about making great connections, exploring amazing places, discovering open spaces, enjoying affordable vacations and enhancing America’s best idea — the national parks!
Park Superintendent David Hallac stated, “There’s no better way to celebrate National Park Week than to invite visitors to come visit and discover something new in your nearest National Park sites free of charge!”
Outer Banks Group staff manage the parks for visitors who seek inspiration and rejuvenation from the natural wonders and rich cultural heritage of the area. Bring your family and friends to Wright Brothers National Memorial, the site of the first powered flight, and learn more about this great nation’s aviation history. Enjoy exploring the spring beaches of the nation’s first national seashore, Cape Hatteras National Seashore, and visit the wooded site of the first English settlement at Fort Raleigh National Historic Site located at the north end of Roanoke Island.
Spring is an excellent time to visit the National Parks on the Outer Banks. Mild weather and sunshine make it a perfect time to get outside, enjoy nature and the opportunity of discovering the rich diversity of cultural heritage offered by the local national park units.
Entrance fees are not charged at Fort Raleigh National Historic Site or Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
