Chrissy Teachout Is Dare Arts Council Featured Artist of the Month
Dare County Arts Council is pleased to present a special exhibit of photography for the month of March, featuring artist Chrissy Teachout.
A native of the North Carolina mountains, Ms. Teachout is a writer and photographer now living and working on the Outer Banks. She credits her mountain life with “nurturing her imaginative mind from childhood.”
About her work, she says “I live by one simple mantra: Life is Art. We are all artists. I am blown away by the fact that I am…someone’s creation. A magical moment shared between two lovers gave me life. This simple fact drives me to capture, recreate, and share the magic in every moment, and everything.
“My desire is simply to share my vision. To inspire and be inspired. To share with you, the viewer, a moment to step into my mind’s eye and see the world from my perspective. So that even only for one brief moment, you will feel the joy, sadness, or confusion the image gave to me… and when you walk away, you will know that life is art! And you are alive.”
Teachout’s exhibit, “The heART of One Woman” will be on display March 6-31.
Gallery hours in March are 10am-5pm, Tuesday through Friday, and noon – 4pm on Saturday. The gallery is closed Sunday and Monday.
An opening reception will be held on March 6th from 6pm – 8pm, featuring hors d’oeuvres, drinks, music, and a chance to meet this talented artist.
