Outer Banks Weekend Movie Update – Aug. 22: Return to 'Sin City'
The guns, girls, and gore of Sin City return to theaters this week, while Chole Grace Moretz has a near death experience, and Apes take over The Pioneer.
Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of August 22, 2014!
Premiering this Friday at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo for one week is the sci-fi action film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (rated PG13), a sequel to the prequel of the classic movie franchise.

Showtime at the Pioneer is 8pm nightly.
Starring Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight) and Keri Russell (August Rush), you can check out the official theatrical trailer in the player below!
Headlining this week’s new releases is the all-star action packed sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (rated R), starting today (Friday) at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills, playing in both 2D and 3D formats.
If you saw the first Sin City, you know what this is all about, and if you didn’t see it, you probably don’t care anyway.
Starring Jessica Alba (Fantastic Four), Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), Bruce Willis (Die Hard), and Eva Green (Dark Shadows) as the titular Dame, plus a ton of other recognizable names that will likely be mostly unrecognizabel in the hyper-stylized black-and-white world of Sin City, you can rock out to the insane trailer in the player below!
Chloe Grace Moretz (Carrie) experiences death, but can’t decide if she wants to leave this world for the next, in the romantic drama If I Stay (rated PG13), also opening today (Friday) at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.
