Outer Banks Weekend Movie Update – July 25, 2014: 'Lucy' Takes On 'Hercules'
Hercules rises, Scarlett Johansson kicks butt, and Michael Douglas finds romance with Diane Keaton in theaters this week, while Tom Cruise lives and dies the same day over and over at The Pioneer.
Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of July 25, 2014!
Premiering this Friday at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo for one week is the new sci-fi adventure Edge of Tomorrow (rated PG13) stars Tom Cruise (Top Gun, Interview with the Vampire) as a man who lives (and dies) the same day over and over, in the middle of a war against an alien species.
Showtime at the Pioneer is 8pm nightly.

Dwayne Johnson (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) leads this week’s new releases as the mythical hero Hercules (rated PG13), opening Friday at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills, playing in both 3D and traditional 2D formats.

If you’re looking for a more futuristic and feminine action hero, Lucy (rated R) is also opening locally this week, starring Scarlett Johansson (The Avengers) as the title character, who is the first human to experience a new drug that allows her to use all 100% of her brain, and then kick everyone’s ass.

Finally, the romantic comedy And So It Goes (rated PG13) also opens Friday in Kill Devil Hills, starring Michael Douglas (Romancing the Stone) and Diane Lane (The Godfather).
