Dare County Arts Council Presenting Artist's Way Workshop
Dare County Arts Council is pleased to present a new workshop, “One Day with the Artist’s Way”.
Have you ever dreamed of living more creatively? Do you have undeveloped ideas or unfinished projects sitting on the “back burner?” Are you in the midst of a life transition and could use some support? Are You Simply Searching for a Little Fun?
Join us on June 28th from 9am – 2pm! We’ll explain and discuss the Artist’s Way process. You’ll get a taste of the expressive arts we use in our 12-week course; such as image-making, writing, meditation, yoga, and creative visualization, along with a healthy dose of discussion. Using Julia Cameron’s wonderful book and the amazing power of expressive arts, you’ll open to your creativity and move forward in the direction of your dreams and goals.
Please keep in mind The Artist’s Way is not an art class and you do not have to have a specific goal in mind to benefit greatly from this course. No artistic or writing ability is required, just bring an open mind, open heart and a commitment to connect with your creative self, however you may express it!
Your Day Trip through “The Artist’s Way for a Day” itinerary includes an interactive overview of the Journey through The Artist’s Way, a “Meet & Greet” with Morning Pages meditation and yoga for creativity, and a “mini” Artist’s Date, activities/exercises to “spark” creative thought and action.
About the Facilitators: Shirley Parker and Rosie Rankin, owners of Outer Banks Inner Journey, are counselors and educators. Like Julia Cameron, they believe “we are all creative” and “we each can tap into the greater creative energies of the universe.” For the last 10 years they have combined their creative energies developing and conducting workshops focused on personal and relational growth and well-being at home and work. They are delighted to join with the Dare County Arts Council in offering this Artist’s Way series.
One Day with The Artist’s Way will take place at Dare County Arts Council, 300 Queen Elizabeth Avenue in downtown Manteo on Saturday, June 28th from 9am – 2pm. Cost for this one-day workshop is only $75, which includes all materials and a healthful lunch. Preregistration is required. Please call (252) 473-5558 to register or for more information.
