Outer Banks Weekend Movie Update – May 30, 2014: 'Maleficent' vs. 'The West'

Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of May 30, 2014!

Premiering this Friday at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo for one week, the animated adventure Rio 2 (rated G) reunites much of the cast from the original film.
Showtime at the Pioneer is 8pm nightly.

Leading this week’s new releases is Disney’s next big re-imagining of one of its most classic animated favorites in the big-budget live-action Maleficent (rated PG), an epic retelling of the Sleepy Beauty legend, starring Angelina Jolie (Wanted, Beowulf) as the evil witch and Elle Fanning (Super 8) as the young beauty about to take a long nap.

Premiering tonight (Thursday) at with a 7pm preview screening and opening on Friday at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills, you can watch an official theatrical trailer for the film in the player below!
Seth Macfarlane (Ted, Family Guy) brings his raunchy sense of humor to the wild west in the new comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West (rated R), also premiering tonight and opening Friday in Kill Devil Hills.
