Over 200 artists and art lovers attended the opening reception on May 4th. The People’s Choice Award was selected that afternoon, and awards were presented for Best in Show, Excellence Awards, and Honorable Mentions.

This year’s judge was Michael H. Drought, the Director of the School of Art and Design at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Born in Illinois and raised in Wisconsin, he received his MFA in painting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mr. Drought’s paintings are in numerous private and public collections, including the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, VA and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, VA.

Gallery hours are 10am – 6pm, Monday through Friday, and noon – 4pm on Saturdays. The gallery is closed on Sundays. For more information about the Mollie Fearing Show, please call (252) 473-5558.
