It’s Draft Day in theaters this week, facing the return of Rio and the terror of Oculus, while Mr. Peabody & Sherman time travel to The Pioneer.

Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of April 11, 2014!

 Premiering this Friday at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo for one week, the animated adventure Mr. Peabody & Sherman (rated PG) is about a time-traveling dog and his boy, who meet some of history’s greatest characters.

Showtime at the Pioneer is 8pm nightly.

Starring Kevin Costner (Man of Steel) and Jennifer Garner (Electra), the sports drama Draft Day (rated PG13) starts tonight with a preview screening at 8pm, officially opening Friday at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.

For the kids, the animated adventure Rio 2 (rated G) reunites much of the cast from the original, also premiering tonight at 8pm and opening Friday in Kill Devil Hills.

The only other new release playing locally is the horror film Oculus (rated R), opening Friday in Kill Devil Hills, about a haunted mirror.
