By popular demand, Dare County Arts Council is again sponsoring a juried exhibit in conjunction with International Women’s Day. The theme of this show is intended to celebrate women and their accomplishments. Works that highlight women, from classical to contemporary, homemaker to business executive, peacekeeper to revolutionary, or any interpretation therein are welcome.

The Dare County Arts Council's annual International Women's Day Exhibit shows March 7-31 in Manteo.

Artists are invited to display up to three works of art that center on the theme. Be creative with your interpretation—this can be more than just portraits.  A Celebration of Women is intended to be a fun as well as informative exhibition. We hope your work can be a part of the excitement.

This exhibition is open to members of Dare County Arts Council and residents of Dare County, accepting original works in painting, pottery, glass, photography, printmaking, jewelry, fiber, metal, mixed media, new media, and wood.

The entry fee is $10 for up to three entries (DCAC Members) or $15 for non-members.  Drop off work at the DCAC Gallery on March 3 & 4 between 10am and 5pm. A registration form will be available at drop off.

Dare County Arts Council Gallery is located at 300 Queen Elizabeth Avenue in downtown Manteo.

Show dates are March 7 — March 31, and an Artist’s Reception will take place on First Friday, March 7, 6pm—8pm.  Prizes will be awarded for Best in Show and People’s Choice. Special thanks are extended to our sponsor, Mollie A. Fearing Insurance Agency.

As part of the celebrations for International Women’s Day, there will be a dinner and lecture featured on 8 March at The Avenue Grille in Manteo from 6pm – 8pm. Come out and enjoy talks, film, art, great food, and wonderful company. The winning artwork will be on display there for the evening.
