Weekend Movie Update – Feb. 7, 2014: 'LEGO' Assembly

LEGO builds a new family classic in theaters this week, while The Monuments Men take on Hitler, Vampire Academy sucks at school, and the new Anchorman is broadcasting at The Pioneer.

 Playing at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, the comedy sequel Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (rated PG13) starts today for a one-week run.

The great Will Ferrell (Elf) is back as top rated newsman Ron Burgundy, reuniting the awesome cast of the 2004 original film, including Paul Rudd (I Love You Man) and Steve Carell (The 40 Year Old Virgin), as well as the always hilarious Kristin Wiig (Bridesmaids).

Leading this week’s new releases is the animated comedy adventure The LEGO Movie (rated PG), opening today at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.

Also new in theaters this week is the all-star action drama The Monuments Men (rated PG13), directed by George Clooney (Oh Brother Where Art Thou) and featuring an all-star cast including Cate Blanchett (Lord of the Rings), Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting), and Bill Murray (Ghostbusters).
