Kelly's to Host Karl Werne CD Release Party [Concert Preview]
Kelly’s in Nags Head will host a CD release party for local favorite Karl Werne, during Open Mic Night this week.
Karl Werne will join Dan Martier, Mick Vaughn & Buzz Bessette (as The Bellhops) to do a CD release showcase set in the middle of their usual Open Mic Night at Kelly’s Restaurant in Nags Head this Thursday night, Jan. 16.
The open mic is scheduled from 7 to 10:30pm, with Karl’s set happening at 8.
This first, ever, all original CD from Karl Werne is a live recording from the closing set of the 2013 Hampton Bay Days Festival.
The show was billed as “Karl Werne & Friends” and features: Karl Werne on acoustic guitar & vocal; Eddie Williams on saxes, flute & vocal; Curtis Eley on electric guitar; Scott Slay on mandolin & vocal; Dan Martier on drums & vocal; Mick Vaughn on bass; Elaine Dempsey on vocal; and Lawrence Lambert on vocal.
The live show was recorded by Nick Werner and mixed by Rich Mossman.
The CD has 13 songs, including “Flow”, which won Karl the Fishman National Songwriting Contest, and “Love & Fear” winner of Veer Magazine’s Video of the Year award.
The new CD will be available at this event.
Kelly’s is located at 2316 South Croatan Highway, on the west side of US 158 in Nags Head.
