Weekend Movie Update – Nov. 22, 2013: 'Catching Fire'
The Hunger Games resume with a new sequel in theaters this week, while Vince Vaughn becomes a dad, and some time travelling turkeys try to alter Thanksgiving history at The Pioneer.
Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of November 22, 2013!
Premiering this Friday at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo for a one week run, the animated holiday comedy Free Birds (rated PG) hopes to give Thanksgiving its own long-overdue family classic, about two turkeys who travel back to the year 1621 to prevent their feathered friends from ever becoming the traditional holiday dinners of choice in the first place.
Starring the voice talents of Woody Harrelson (Natural Born Killers), Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers), and Amy Poehler (Baby Mama), you can watch the trailer for the animated comedy in the player below!
Filmed in and around Charlotte, North Carolina, The Hunger Games (rated PG13) returns to theaters for one night only tonight (Thursday) in the first half of a big screen double feature, also including a sneak preview screening of the new sequel Catching Fire (rated PG13), which officially opens Friday.
Both films star Best Actress Oscar Winner Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook, X-Men: FIrst Class) in a mythic story set in a future where the youth are forced to fight to the death in a series of televised games.

The only other new release opening this week is the comedy Delivery Man (rated PG13), starring Vince Vaughn as a sperm donor who finds out years later that he is now the father of 500 kids.
