Weekend Movie Update – Nov. 15, 2013: Early 'Holiday'
The Best Man gets a holiday in theaters this week, while a Slave fights for freedom, there’s Enough Said between the late James Gandolfini and Julia Louis Dreyfuss, and The Pioneer tries to rescue Captain Phillips (filmed in Virginia Beach).
Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of November 15, 2013!
Filmed partly in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 2012, Tom Hanks (Forest Gump) stars in the true story drama Captain Phillips (rated PG13), about a cargo ship attacked by pirates, playing at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, starting this Friday for a one week run.
Showtime at The Pioneer is 8pm nightly.

Leading this week’s new releases is The Best Man Holiday (rated PG13), a sequel that reunites most of the cast of the 1999 comedy The Best Man, including Taye Diggs (Private Practice) and Nia Long (Friday).
Premiering with a preview screening tonight (Thursday) at 8pm and opening on Friday at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills, you can watch the Holiday trailer in the player below!
Also premiering tonight and opening on Friday, the emotional drama 12 Years a Slave (rated R) tells the story of free black man who is captured and sold into slavery, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor (Children of Men) in what is sure to be an award-winning performance.
