The Grascals Join 2013 Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival [Concert Preview]

The 2nd Annual Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival returns to Manteo in just two weeks, and new addition to the 2013 lineup of all star musicians is Grammy-nominated The Grascals, hot off their recent Grammy nomination, set to headline the first night of festival on Friday, Oct. 4.

Formed in 2004 in Nashville, Tenn., the six-piece group’s 2012 release “Life Finds a Way” was nominated for Best Bluegrass Album at this year’s Grammy Awards on February.

The band also recently appeared on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno on January 25.

The 2nd Annual Outer Bluegrass Festival is happening Oct. 4-6, 2013 at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo, NC.

The concert starts at 11am on Friday and Saturday and at noon on Sunday, and the festival will kick off with a special screening of the classic bluegrass-fueled film O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), starring George Clooney, on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 5pm inside the indoor theater at Festival Park, with a live jam session scheduled to follow.

Friday night, October 4, will be capped off with a professional fireworks display over the outside concert pavilion.

Tickets are $35 each day or $75 for all three days, and can be purchased online here.
