Weekend Movie Update – July 12, 2013: Monsters vs. Robots

It’s the ultimate battle of giant robots against even bigger monsters in theaters this week, while Adam Sandler and Chris Rock play Grown Ups, and a different group of Monsters visit The Pioneer.

Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of July 12, 2013!

The lovable frightsters Mike and Sulley, voiced by Billy Crystal (City Slickers) and John Goodman (The Babe), are back in Disney Pixar’s Monsters Inc. prequel Monsters University (rated G), playing at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, starting this Friday for a one week run.

Director Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy) creates a massive new world in the epic adventure Pacific Rim (rated PG13), where humans built giant robots to battle against an army of huge monsters from the sea, opening tonight (Thursday) at 7pm at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.

Also new in theaters this week, Adam Sandler (Happy Gilmore) reunites with the comedy all-star team of Chris Rock (New Jack City), David Spade (Joe Dirt), and Kevin James (Mall Cop) in the sequel Grown Ups 2 (rated PG13), starting tonight at 7pm at R/C KDH Movies 10.
