[Local Buzz] Festival Park To Host OBX Children’s Author Suzanne Tate

Posted By on June 28, 2013

Renowned Outer Banks author and local icon Suzanne Tate will be at Roanoke Island Festival Park this July for a special reading of her children’s books, followed by a book signing.

Over two million Suzanne Tate books have been sold and are used by teachers, marine educators, and parents to foster reading and teach nature and history.

Tate has received many awards in the 20 years since she began writing children’s books. She is especially pleased that two titles were awarded “Children’s Choice” in a joint project by the International Reading Association and Children’s Book Council. Children across the country each year choose the books they like best.

“I am happy that I have been able to connect with the children,” the author says.

Suzanne Tate will be at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo for “Second Saturday” on July 13, from 1 to 2pm inside the park’s Museum Store.

This event is free and open to the public.
