 The Heat is on and the White House is going Down in theaters this weekend, while magic comes to The Pioneer.

The thriller Now You See Me (rated PG13), about a group of magicians who use their talents to rob banks and then give the money away to their audiences, opens at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, starting this Friday for a one week run.

Showtime at The Pioneer is 8pm nightly.

Starring Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network), Woody Harelson (Natural Born Killers), Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers), Morgan Freeman (The Dark Knight), and Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers), you can watch the official trailer in the player below!

Leading this week’s new releases, Sandra Bullock (Speed, Demolition Man) teams up with Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, Tammy) for the action comedy The Heat (rated R), starting tonight (Thursday) at 10pm at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.

Also new in theaters this week, Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained) teams up with Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street) in another “buddy” action flick, White House Down (rated PG13), starting tonight at 7pm at R/C KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.

Foxx plays The President of the United States and Tatum is the police officer who must save him when the White House falls under attack.

The Steven Spielberg classic E.T. (rated PG) is also playing this Friday, June 28, at Children at Play’s Movies on the Sound at the Outer Banks Event Site in Nags Head. Gates open at 7pm and showtime is at sunset.
