Weekend Movie Update – June 7, 2013: ‘Purge’ And Punishment

Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of June 7, 2013!
Leonardo DiCaprio (Django Unchained, Titanic) is The Great Gatsby (rated PG13) in the latest version of the classic story of high society in the roaring 1920s, opening at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, starting this Friday for a one week run.
Showtime at The Pioneer is 8pm nightly.

All crime is legal for one night a year in the futuristic thriller The Purge (rated R), starring Ethan Hawke (Training Day) and Lean Headey (Game of Thrones).

The stars of Wedding Crashers, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, reunite in the new comedy The Internship (rated PG13), as two out-of-work watch salesmen who get new gigs as interns at Google.

Steven Spielberg’s 1991 classic Peter Pan tale Hook (rated PG) is also playing this Friday night, June 7 [UPDATE: Rescheduled for Sunday, June 9], at Movies on the Sound at the Outer Banks Event Site in Nags Head. Gates open at 7pm.
Coming Soon: The hilarious horror comedy This Is The End (rated R) opens this Wednesday, June 12, and Superman returns in Man of Steel (rated PG13) starting at 11:59pm this Thursday, June 13.
