2013 Real Triple-S Invitational Brings World’s Best Kiteboarders to Waves

 Real Watersports in Waves will host its annual Triple-S Invitational next week, bringing the best kiteboarders on the planet to Hatteras Island for seven days, seven parties, and seven bands to be featured during the top professional kiteboarding event in the world!

 “Triple-S” stands for Surf, Slicks and Sliders – the three main riding disciplines in kiteboarding – and the Triple-S crown is the most sought after victory in professional kiteboarding.

Professionals from around the world, selected by invitation only, will descend on the Village of Waves on Hatteras Island for a world class exhibition of talent at the REAL Watersports flagship store June 1-7.

On Thursday, June 6, for the third year in a row, REAL Watersports is hosting the Sunset Swim Charity Runway Event, where you can come get your fill of fashion, prizes, entertainment, DJ, and more. All funds directly benefit Athletes 4 Cancer, a nationally- recognized non-profit that helps young cancer survivors rebuild their lives after cancer through outdoor adventures.

The Sunset Swim charity fashion show, aims to entertain as well as garner attention for cancer prevention and awareness. Featuring local designers and boutiques, the event seeks to wow with local models in loads of stylish swimwear, colorful suits and skimpy tops and beautiful jewelry and accessories.

The night will begin with music from Big Hair Productions. Guest may mingle while sipping Sunset Swim signature drinks and perusing our auction items. Once the show begins, enjoy fabulous fashion, fun beats, raffle prizes, and surprise entertainment.

The charity fashion show raises money to fund Athletes 4 Cancer’s Camp Koru Survivorship Program which uses surfing, standup paddling, skiing, and snowboarding as channels of growth and life-renewal after cancer has taken so much away.  All the money raised directly benefits this program.

Taking place at REAL Watersports in Waves on Thursday, June 6th, the doors will open at 6:30pm with an hour of drinks and socializing. The fashion show will begin at 8:30 with dancing and raffle to follow. Tickets can be bought in advance or at the door.

General Admission is $10, and VIP tickets are $25, including front row seating and entrance to the raffle. Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20 at the door. Please note, advance purchase tickets ensure VIP seating for the event.

Tickets are on sale now at the REAL Watersports store in Waves and online at Sensi Bikinis, owned by professional kiteboarder and 2013 Triple-S competitor Sensi Graves.

This year’s Triple-S Invitational will take place starting this Saturday, June 1 though Friday June 7.

The family friendly event is free and open to the public.
