[Local Buzz] Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show Opens At Festival Park

Posted By on April 29, 2013

The annual Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show opens this weekend at Roanoke Island Festival Park, showing inside the park’s Art Gallery throughout May.

Sponsored by the Dare County Arts Council, the annual exhibit features an eclectic mix of locally created Outer Banks art.

The event was created to honor the show’s namesake, Mollie Fearing, who was a prominent figure in the Manteo community.

Fearing helped form the original Sea and Sounds Arts Council that evolved into the current Dare County Arts Council.

The 2013 Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show will be on exhibit inside the Art Gallery at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo May 5 through May 30.

An opening reception, where you can meet the artists, is scheduled for this Sunday, May 5, from 2 to 4pm.

Admission to the exhibit is free and open to the public from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays.
