Theatre Of Dare Presents Evening Of One Acts

Theatre of Dare will wrap up their 22nd production season by presenting for the first time a night of One Act Plays, with four performances coming up this week.
‘Life After Elvis’ actors Lisa Nicholson, K.C., and Jason Forbes are pictured rehearsing on the set for Theatre of Dare’s upcoming Evening of One Acts.
Life After Elvis written by Jason Milligan and directed by Mike Mazza will open the evening, suggesting that Elvis didn’t die in 1977. In the play, he faked his death and entered the Witness Protection Program, and has been spending his time living in the back room of different peoples apartments.
‘Will Someone Please Tell Me What’s Going on Here?’ will be presented by the Theatre of Dare as part of their night of One Act Plays.
Next, director Jim Conners will bring to life writer Jim Lee’s Will Someone Please Tell Me What’s Going on Here? When Harold and Lucille find themselves bored one evening, Harold tries to bring some excitement into their lives, and they end up involving their neighbor and a police officer that just happens to be in the neighborhood.
Husband and wife, Glenn and Julie Sawyer, rehearse part of the one act comedy Will Someone Please Tell Me What’s Going on Here?’.
Finally, the evening will draw to a close with When God Comes For Breakfast You Don’t Burn the Toast, written by Gary Apple and directed by Julia Scheer. In the play, part of God’s job is to visit people, and everyone gets a visit. But what do you cook for the Almighty when it’s your turn?

All three one act comedies will be presented at each performance for four nights only, premiering on Thursday, April 25 and running though Sunday, April 28 at the College of the Albemarle (COA) Roanoke Island Campus in Manteo.
Show times are at 7:30pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with a 2pm matinee performance scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and are available at the door or in advance at Gray’s Department Store in Kitty Hawk.
