The new Outer Banks Jubilee debuted its first official Christmas show to an excited crowd in Kitty Hawk on Friday, Nov. 30, and OBXentertainment.com was there on opening night to bring you the following report and exclusive photo gallery!

Presented inside the former Outer Banks Music Showcase theater, the Jubilee kept the heavy crowd entertained with a two-hour concert featuring all of your favorite Christmas carols performed by some of the area’s most talented local musicians.

Jubilee producer and star AnLouise Bennett welcomed opening night attendees to a rousing homegrown applause, before launching into powerful renditions of “Silent Night”, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”, and the tongue-in-cheek favorite “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer”, sung to hillbilly perfection by Ronnie Swaim.

A lively comedian kept the laughs flowing in between sets, as the show incorporated numerous costume and lighting changes, effectively creating a different mood for each section of the performance.

The Outer Banks Jubilee’s ‘Christmas Time’s a Comin” show will run every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through December 22, with Santa Claus making special appearances before the show on Friday nights.

Showtime is 7pm each night at the former Outer Banks Music Showcase theater in Kitty Hawk, with an additional 2pm matinee show scheduled for Saturday, December 22.

The cast of the Jubilee will also present a special New Year’s Eve show at 2 and 7pm on Monday, Dec. 31.

Ronnie Swaim and AnLouise Bennett of the local band Drifting Sands are the new co-owners of the former Music Showcase, which they have relaunched as the Outer Banks Jubilee.
