Weekend Movie Update – Sept 28, 2012
The Hotel Transylvania welcomes guests this week, while Bruce Willis tries to kill himself and ParaNorman goes trick-or-treating at The Pioneer.
Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of Sept. 28, 2012!
The new stop-motion animated spookfest ParaNorman (rated PG) opens at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, starting this Friday for a one week run.
The homage to horror stars Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In, The Road), Anna Kendrick (Twilight, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), and Christopher Mintz-Passe (Superbad, Kick-Ass).
Showtime for the comedy is 8pm nightly at The Pioneer.

More family friendly scares headlines this week’s new releases, as all of the classic Universal Studios monsters get an animated makeover in Hotel Transylvania (rated PG), showing in both 3D and traditional 2D formats starting this Friday at KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.
The comedy stars the voice talents of Adam Sandler (The Wedding Singer, Happy Gilmore) as Dracula, Kevin James (Grown Ups) as Frankenstein’s Monster, David Spade (Joe Dirt) as the Invisible Man, Steve Buscemi (HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) as the Wolf-Man, Cee Lo Green (NBC’s The Voice) as the Mummy, and former Disney starlet Selena Gomez (Spring Breakers) as Dracula’s daughter.

Also new in theaters this week, the sci-fi action thriller Looper (rated R) stars Bruce Willis (The Sixth Sense) as a mobster and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises) as the younger version of Willis’ character, who has been assigned to kill his future self sent back in time.
The futuristic film also stars Emily Blunt (The Wolfman), Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood), and Jeff Daniels (Dumb & Dumber).

Finally, the emotional drama Won’t Back Down (rated PG), the true story of two women who will stop at nothing to transform their children’s failing inner-city school, also opens this week.
