Outer Banks Pro Surfing Contest Returns to Nags Head

The area’s first professional surfing competition, the WRV Outer Banks Pro returns to Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head this month.

Sponsored annually by Wave Riding Vehicles (WRV) and presented this year by Hurley, the 2012 Outer Banks Pro is set for next weekend, Sept. 28-30 at Jennette’s Pier, near milepost 16 in Nags Head, NC.

Professional surfers from throughout the world will be dropping in and competing for a total purse of $30,000 in prize money.

Previous winners of this official Western Atlantic Pro Surf Series contest include Aaron Cormican, Jesse Merrle-Jones, Chris Ward, Jeremy Johnston, Ben Bourgeois, and Asher Nolan.

The Western Atlantic Pro Surf Series bills itself as the East Coast and Carribbean’s only profesional surfing tour, bringing its sixth contest of the year to Nags Head for the 2012 Outer Banks Pro.

Public admission to this event is free.
