Weekend Movie Update – August 24, 2012
A real life husband-wife team hit the road in theaters this week, while the Total sci-fi remake plays with your mind at The Pioneer.
Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of August 24, 2012!
Director Len Wiseman’s (Underworld) remake of the Arnold Schwarzenegger
sci-fi classic Total Recall (rated PG13) opens at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, starting this Friday for a one week run.
The remake features Colin Farrell (Alexander, The New World) taking over for Schwarzenegger, while Kate Beckinsale (Underworld) steps into the role originally played by Sharon Stone.

The action comedy Hit and Run (rated R) headlines this week’s new releases, opening today (Wednesday) at KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.
Directed and starring Dax Shepard (NBC’s Parenthood) and co-starring his real life wife Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), the cast of the high speed adventure also includes Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), Kristin Chenoweth (ABC’s Pushing Daisies), and Tom Arnold (True Lies).

The only other new release in theaters this week is 2016 Obama’s America (rated PG), opening Friday at KDH Movies 10, with a midnight preview screening scheduled at 11:5pm on Thursday night.
The documentary delves into President Obama’s past for clues about the future.
