Weekend Movie Update – August 17, 2012
There’s something new for everyone in theaters this week, including an all-star action ensemble, Whitney Houston’s final performance, a magical family tale from Disney, and a creepy stop-motion adventure for all ages, while the latest Ice Age sequel drifts into The Pioneer.

‘ParaNorman’ opens in theaters this Friday.
Starring the voice talents of Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond), Dennis Leary (Rescue Me), and Jennifer Lopez (American Idol), the family friendly sequel Ice Age: Continental Drift (rated PG) opens at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, starting this Friday for a one week run.
Showtime for the comedy is 8pm nightly at The Pioneer.

The family fun continues in the new stop-motion animated spookfest ParaNorman (rated PG), opening Friday at KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.
Starring Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In, The Road), Anna Kendrick (Twilight, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), and Christopher Mintz-Passe (Superbad, Kick-Ass), the homage to horror is showing in digital 3D.

Disney brings a new live action film to theaters this week, as The Odd Life of Timothy Green (rated PG) opens today (Wednesday).
