'Rapunzel' Plays for Kids at Festival Park
Families are invited to take in the classic fairytale Rapunzel live on stage inside the (air conditioned) theatre at Roanoke Island Festival Park this week, as AT&T State University returns for three morning performances of their latest kid-friendly production.
A&T State University returns to Roanoke Island Festival Park July 17, 18 and 19th with the classic fairytale Rapunzel.
The performances are at 10:30 a.m. in the Indoor Theatre.
Tickets are $5 for all 6 years old and older. 5 and under are free and may be purchased in advance at the Visitors Center or the day of the event.
Even though Rapunzel had been locked away in a tower her entire life, she still loves her overprotective mother, Mother Gothel, who has devoted herself to Rapunzel’s-or rather her hairs-protection. Her long hair, supposedly 70 feet long, has magical healing powers.
Rapunzel initially enjoys life in the tower, spending large portions of her days expressing herself creatively by painting the walls which line the tower. Later on, because of this creativity and curiosity, Rapunzel begins to question what else is out there, and has a hunch that there is something more inside of her. She knows there is much in the world to experience and discover.
