Weekend Movie Update – July 13, 2012
It’s a relatively unscary Friday the 13th for movie fans this week, as the latest Ice Age family adventure drifts into theaters, while Rock rules at The Pioneer.
Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of July 13, 2012.
The 1980s-set musical Rock of Ages (rated PG13) opens at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, starting this Friday for a one week run.
The all star cast includes Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, and Julianne Hough, who is currently in Southport, North Carolina filming the Nicholas Sparks adaptation Safe Haven.

The only new release in theaters this week the animated comedy sequel Ice Age: Continental Drift (rated PG), opening Friday at KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills and Hatters Movies 4 in Avon, with a midnight preview starting at 11:59pm on Thursday in Kill Devil Hills.
Starring the voice talents of Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond), Dennis Leary (Rescue Me), and Jennifer Lopez (American Idol), Continental Drift is playing in both 3D and 2D formats.
