Weekend Movie Update – June 29, 2012
Hot male strippers and a foulmouthed talking bear top this week of decidedly R-rated new releases, while the fairest one of all arrives at The Pioneer.
Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of June 29, 2012.
Charlize Theron stars in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’.
The fantasy adventure Snow White and the Huntsman (rated PG13) opens at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, starting this Friday for a one week run.
The action epic stars Kristen Stewart (the Twilight films), Chris Hemsworth (Thor; The Avengers), and Charlize Theron (Monster; The Devil’s Advocate), and it is the second big budget re-imagining of the classic fairy tale to hit theaters this year.

‘Ted’ stars Seth Macfarlane, March Wahlberg, and Mila Kunis.
The new comedy Ted (rated R) stars Mark Wahlberg (Boogie Nights, The Fighter) and Mila Kunis (Black Swan, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Oz: The Great and Powerful) in a story about a grown man who has his talking teddy bear from childhood as his constant companion in adult life.
The film comes from the mind of director Seth Macfarlane (Family Guy), who also provides the voice of the title character.

Magic Mike (rated R) stars Channing Tatum (G.I. Joe, 21 Jump Street) and Matthew McConaughey (A Time to Kill, Surfer Dude) as an aspiring stripper and his mentor.

The film is directed by Steven Soderburgh (Ocean’s Eleven, Traffic) and is based in part on Tatum’s realife rise from stripper to Hollywood star.
