Weekend Movie Update – June 8, 2012
The original Alien invader attacks theaters this week, while the wild things of Madagascar return for a threequel and you can Expect all-star laughs at the Pioneer.
Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of June 8, 2012!
The big screen adaptation of the popular instruction manual for expecting parents, What to Expect When You’re Expecting (rated PG13) arrives at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, starting this Friday for a one week run.

The film stars Cameron Diaz (There’s Something About Mary), Jennifer Lopez (Out of Sight), Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games),and NC’s own Brooklyn Decker.
Showtime at The Pioneer is 8pm nightly.
One of the most anticipated movies of the year headlines this week’s new releases starting Friday at KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills and Hatteras Movies 4 in Avon.
Director Ridely Scott (Blade Runner, Gladiator) makes an epic return to the sci-fi genre he helped to redefine with the action thriller Prometheus (rated R) – a prequel to Scott’s own groundbreaking 1979 classic Alien.
Prometheus stars the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Noomi Rapace, along with Charlize Theron (Snow White and the Huntsman), and Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class). You can watch a trailer in the player below!
Rounding out a well balanced week in theaters is Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (rated PG), which reunites many of the voice talents from the first two films (including Ben Stiller and Chris Rock) for more of the same family friendly laughs.
