Weekend Movie Update – June 1, 2012
The fairest one of all picks up a sword, as the second Snow White of the year tries to bring the Men in Black back to Earth and vampires take over The Pioneer this week!
Here’s your Outer Banks weekend movie update for June 1, 2012!
Director Tim Burton’s reboot of the cult classic soap opera Dark Shadows (rated PG13) arrives at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, starting this Friday, June 1st for a one week run.
The gothic comedy marks Burton’s eighth cinematic collaboration with Johnny Depp, starring this time as centuries old vampire Barnabas Collins, who awakens after 400 years in the 1970s, complete with lava lamps, McDonald’s, and Alice Cooper.

Showtime at The Pioneer is 8pm nightly.
The only new release showing locally this week is the fantasy adventure Snow White and the Huntsman (rated PG13), opening Friday at KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills and Hatteras Movies 4 in Avon.
The action epic stars Kristen Stewart (the Twilight films), Chris Hemsworth (Thor; The Avengers), and Charlize Theron (Monster; The Devil’s Advocate), and it is the second big budget re-imagining of the classic fairy tale to hit theaters this year.
