Weekend Movie Update – May 25, 2012
The Men in Black are back to officially kick off the summer movie blockbuster season, while low budget horror goes nuclear and The Avengers arrive at The Pioneer this Memorial Day weekend.
Here’s your Outer Banks weekend movie update for May 25, 2012!
The biggest movie of the year (so far) arrives at the historic Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, when Marvel and Disney’s all-star superfilm The Avengers (rated PG13) starts Friday.
The action adventure has held the number one spot at the box office for the last four weeks, smashing numerous records along the way.
Showtime at The Pioneer is 8pm nightly.
Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back in the big budget sequel Men in Black 3, opening Friday at KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills and Hatteras Movies 4 in Avon.

The sci-fi action comedy adds Josh Brolin into the mix this time as a younger version of Jones’ character, and pop stars Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber both have cameos playing (naturally) aliens.
Also new this week at KDH Movies 10 is the horror film Chernobyl Diaries, which takes the ‘American tourists take a very BAD vacation’ premise into uncharted territory. You can watch a preview below!
