Local Student Art Showing at Festival Park, April 4-28

Local high school art students take center stage in a new exhibit showing this month at the Roanoke Island Festival Park Art Gallery.

Join Roanoke Island Festival Park in celebrating the art of Dare County high school students at their annual show April 4- 28 in the Art Gallery.

High schools participating include First Flight, Cape Hatteras and Manteo, as students from the three schools will showcase their work, including student assignments as well as individual creations.

 The student’s art and crafts come in a wide variety of mediums including painting, drawing, collage and mixed media, woodwork, fiber art, stained glass and photography. Generally over 400 pieces grace the walls lending the viewer an intimate and joyous view into the Dare County art classrooms. Expect to see playful, serious and passionate pieces ranging from student to professional level work.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, April 20th from 6 to 8pm. Admission is free.

Hours at the Festival Park Art Gallery are Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and on Saturday from 10am to 4pm (except for April 21st).
