Outer Banks Weekend Movie Update – March 30, 2012
Snow White faces the Wrath of the Titans in local theatres this week, while the North Carolina-filmed Hunger Games looms, threatening to continue its record-breaking box office dominance.
Here’s your Outer Banks movie update for the weekend of March 30, 2012!
The big budget family friendly re-imagining Mirror Mirror (rated PG), starring Lily Collins (Priest) as Snow White and Julia Roberts (Pretty Woman) as the Evil Queen, opens Friday at KDH Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills.

This week’s only other new release is the action fantasy sequel Wrath of the Titans (rated PG13), starring Sam Worthington (Avatar) and Liam Neeson (Batman Begins), both reprising their roles from 2010’s Clash of the Titans remake.

Meanwhile, the NC-filmed Hunger Games is already the biggest box office hit of the year so far, and is likely to continue its financial feast, as fans are eating up the futuristic action adventure.

On Wednesday, April 4th, director James Cameron’s 1997 blockbuster Titanic will be re-released into theatres in 3D, with 7pm showtimes scheduled nightly at KDH Movies 10.
Finally, it’s the end of an era, as the 94-year-old Pioneer Theatre in Manteo will be closed this week, as the old film reel is replaced with a new digital projector. The newly digitized Pioneer is expected to re-open next Friday.
