Celebrate New Year’s Eve 2017 on the Outer Banks

Here’s what’s happening on the Outer Banks for New Year’s Eve, ringing in 2018 on Sunday night, December 31, 2017!

New Year in the New World will be a free, family-friendly event happening on Sunday, Dec. 31 along the waterfront in downtown Manteo, culminating with the largest New Year’s Eve fireworks display in North Carolina, all choreographed to music. UPDATE: The fireworks display has been POSTPONED UNTIL MONDAY, JAN. 1 at 7pm, due to high winds. 

The schedule of events starts at 3pm with live music by Sideline Bluegrass Band and Sassagrass, followed by a Children’s Early Ball Drop at 8:30 and then more music by The Rhondels at 9pm.

Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills will ring in the new year with the biggest balloon drop on the beach at the stroke of midnight during their annual New Year’s Eve party, also including food and drink specials all night and live local music in concert starting at around 10:30pm.

Jolly Roger Restaurant on the Beach Road (NC 12) in Kill Devil Hills is serving up a tasty menu of specials starting at 4:30pm on Dec. 31, and there will be free champagne and party favors at midnight, as well as karaoke all night, and free kielbasa, black eyed peas, and sauerkraut to be served after midnight for good luck in the New Year. 

Longboards Grill in Kitty Hawk is hosting its annual New Year’s Eve party, featuring entertainment by DJ Lex and a free champagne toast at midnight.
