UNC CSI To Host Outer Banks Birding Lecture

The UNC Coastal Studies Institute (UNC CSI) is hosting a lecture on North Carolina’s Outer Banks birding as part of its  “Science on the Sound” lecture series. 

This series, held monthly, highlights information on coastal topics and issues in northeast North Carolina. 

This month, the program will feature Jeff Lewis, horticulturist with the UNC Coastal Studies Institute. Mr. Lewis’ presentation, entitled “Coastal Habitats of the Outer Banks and The Birds They Support ”, will highlight Outer Banks coastal habitats and the birds that they support. 

During the program, the audience will gain a better awareness of the bird species that live here on the Outer Banks, their behaviors and the relationship between coastal habitats and the bird species that are found within them. 

The program will be held at 6pm on Thursday, April 27 at the UNC Coastal Studies Institute, located at 850 NC 345 in Wanchese  

The presentation is free and the public is welcomed and encouraged to attend.

This program will be streamed live at http://coastalstudiesinstitute.org/outreach/live-streaming. and the online viewing audience will be able to ask the presenter questions via an online chat room.
