Weekend Movie Update – May 27, 2016: ‘X-Men’ vs ‘Alice’

The X-Men mutant heroes face the Apocalypse theaters this week, while Alice journeys Through the Looking Glass, and Captain America continues to wage Civil War at the historic Pioneer.

Here’s your Outer Banks Movie Update for the weekend of May 27, 2016!

Marvel’s latest superhero epic Captain America: Civil War (rated PG13) continues at the Pioneer Theatre in Manteo, playing for two weeks, through June 2.

Showtime at The Pioneer is 8pm nightly.

Also based on Marvel comics but set in a different cinematic universe is the eighth film in the X-Men franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse (rated PG13), opening Friday at RC Theatres in Kill Devil Hills, with preview screenings set for tonight (Thursday) at 7 and 10:05pm.

Tonight’s premiere screening at 7pm will be preceded by a Movie Premiere Party and local art show presented by Earth 383 Comics & Games, happening in the lobby at RC Theatres in Kill Devil Hills starting today (Thursday) at 5pm.

Also new this week, Disney’s fantasy sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass (rated PG) also opens Friday at RC Theatres in Kill Devil Hills, with preview screenings set for tonight (Thursday) at 7:10, 7:30, 9:45, and 10:05pm.
